What this page helps you decide: which Starless Forest difficulty to farm next, and whether the ore you want drops there at all before you commit an hour to it.

Starless Forest is the Tier 1 world and the first thing you can queue for from the Dungeon menu. It takes up to four players and carries the same five difficulties as every other main world - Trial, Challenge, Penitent, Torment and Inferno - plus a Hell mode variant of each. What changes as you climb is not only enemy strength but which ore tier appears, and that is the reason to move up rather than farm one difficulty comfortably. Three elite enemies and three bosses live here, and none of the bosses or mini-bosses can be stunned, so the fight plan is built around their attack gaps instead. This page lists the ore each difficulty is worth running for, the enemies you will meet, and the point where the forest stops being useful.

Who you fight here

Three elites appear in the forest. The Elite Crossbow-goblin is a ranged attacker whose cooldown is long enough to fit a whole skill cycle into, and which needs roughly a second to aim - dash sideways when you see the hand movement. The Elite Axe-goblin, which the Beastiary calls the Executioner Goblin, cannot be stunned, moves fast and is fastest to kill by trading basic attacks. The Minotaur is high health, low danger, has a single telegraphed ram, and is worth saving for last. The bosses are the Orc mini-boss with its Air-Slice and Leap on roughly eight-second cooldowns, the Lava Golem, and the Dragon of Evil. The Lava Golem is the one boss the official guide says you can safely trade with, because its health pool is large but its threat to most players is not.

What each difficulty is actually worth

The forest is a ladder of ore rather than a ladder of challenge. Trial exists to fund your first weapon. Challenge is where uncommon ore becomes common enough that armour finally deserves some of it, and its Hell mode pays dark cube. Penitent is the first place mythic ore appears at all, which is the single most important transition in the early game. Torment's Hell mode is the painstone source, and a pure painstone light weapon carries most of Frozen Valley. Inferno floods you with magnetite, which makes it the sub-stat farm. If your goal is a specific material rather than a clear, that mapping tells you exactly which difficulty to queue.

What no source publishes about this map

There is no drop table. One competing database lists the forest's drops as Unknown outright, and another states in writing that it has no cross-verifiable entry power requirement or drop table for it. Neither Fandom wiki lists per-difficulty drop percentages. That means everything on this page about ore is a statement of which materials appear, taken from the official guide's own progression advice, and never a percentage. Enemy health values are not published either; the Beastiary gives bands such as low, medium and high rather than numbers. Where you want an exact figure for this map, it does not exist yet in public.

Step-by-Step

  1. Clear Trial twice at recommended level 0 before moving up. Put all three ore of a single type into a light weapon, which costs 3 ore and produces roughly 14 base attack from pure Sand Rock or Verdanite depending on the variant.
  2. Move to Challenge at level 5 and keep feeding weapons. Once you are level 10 with about 28 base weapon damage and any heavy armour set, run Challenge Hell mode: its dark cube drops are enough for a light sword.
  3. Farm Penitent from level 10 for your first mythic ore, and bank rather than spend it. Mythic quality on the forge requires at least half the ore in the attempt to be mythic, so a hoard is worth more than three separate attempts.
  4. Use Torment at level 12 for painstone attempts through its Hell mode, not for experience. The official guide warns that runs here are long enough to make levelling inefficient, and that assembling the three painstone a sword needs has a fairly low chance.
  5. Farm Inferno at level 15 specifically for sub-stats. Magnetite is very common here, which makes repeated forging affordable, and the targets are a heavy chest piece with a large health roll and a good secondary weapon.
  6. Leave once you have level 15, 1,200 maximum health and a pure painstone light weapon. That is the Frozen Valley entry requirement and there is no reward for over-farming Tier 1 past it.

Tips & Notes

  • By level 35 a heavy weapon's ultimate can delete bosses outright according to the official guide, which changes how much you care about boss mechanics on repeat farm runs.
  • Forge with a single ore type here rather than mixing. Mixed ore affects the crafting pool and makes the result less predictable, and at this tier you cannot afford a wasted attempt.
  • Party size is four, not sixteen. The Roblox server cap of 16 players is the lobby, not the dungeon.

FAQ

What level should I be for Starless Forest Inferno?

Level 15 is the recommended level, which is the same level that gates Frozen Valley entry. Inferno's practical value is magnetite for repeated forging, so it stays useful after you have technically outgrown it.

Where do I get my first mythic ore?

Penitent difficulty in Starless Forest, at recommended level 10. The official guide advises hoarding mythic and legendary ore rather than spending it immediately, because mythic output requires at least half the forged ore to be mythic.

Can Starless Forest bosses be stunned?

No. The official guide states plainly that no boss or mini-boss can be stunned; they rest between attacks instead, which is where your damage window comes from.
