What this page helps you decide: Whether the extra rarity of Fairy over Sorcerer buys anything, once you see that the difference is one percentage point per line.

Fairy is published at 1.70%, seventh of 13 by draw rate and the second of the three Epic entries. It carries the same four stats as Sorcerer: Critical Rate 11%, 16%, 22%, Critical Damage 16%, 24%, 32%, Skill Damage 11%, 16%, 22% and Ultimate Charge Rate 21%, 31%, 42%. Line them up against Sorcerer and a pattern appears immediately. Fairy is Sorcerer plus exactly one point on every one of its four one star values, and plus two points on every three star value. That is the entire difference, bought at a draw rate 19% lower. At 1.70% the average hunt is 58.8 rerolls, even odds arrive at 41, 90% confidence needs 135, and three stars averages 176 rerolls.

Fairy against Sorcerer on their three shared damage lines at three stars

All four Fairy lines, star by star

Critical Rate runs 11%, 16%, 22%. Critical Damage runs 16%, 24%, 32%. Skill Damage runs 11%, 16%, 22%. Ultimate Charge Rate runs 21%, 31%, 42%. Three of those four are rounding cases: 11 times one and a half is 16.5 and prints as 16, and 21 times one and a half is 31.5 and prints as 31. Fairy therefore has more rounded-down values than any other race except the seven-line mythicals, and it is one of only two races whose one star values are not multiples of five, the other being Dragoon. That unusual numbering is exactly what a copying error looks like when a third-party site smooths it over, which is why the odd values are worth stating plainly.

Fairy against Sorcerer, line by line

At one star: Critical Rate 11 against 10, Critical Damage 16 against 15, Skill Damage 11 against 10, Ultimate Charge 21 against 20. At three stars: 22 against 20, 32 against 30, 22 against 20, 42 against 40. There is no stat that Fairy has and Sorcerer lacks, and no case where Sorcerer is higher. The gap at three stars is two percentage points on each of four lines. Against that, Sorcerer is 24% more likely to appear per roll, and needs 33 rerolls for even odds where Fairy needs 41. If your reroll budget is finite, and it always is, the honest reading is that these two are the same race at slightly different prices.

Where Fairy sits among the 13 races

Seventh by draw rate, between Sorcerer at 2.10% and the two 1.00% entries. It is 15 times rarer than a common and 8.5 times more likely than any 0.20% mythical. A full Battle Pass of 28 rerolls gives a 38.1% chance of at least one Fairy, against 44.8% for Sorcerer. On the third-party tier list that puts Lucifer and Demon at the top, Fairy shares the second tier with Sorcerer and Archdruid, which is consistent with the two of them being near-identical in what they provide. The same list rates both as Legendary, one band above the official Epic label, part of a wider pattern of rarity labels shifted by one on that site.

Step-by-Step

  1. Compare against Sorcerer before hunting. Fairy is one point better per line at one star and two points better at three, at 1.70% instead of 2.10%.
  2. Budget 41 rerolls for an even chance, which is nearly one and a half Battle Pass seasons at 28 rerolls each.
  3. Treat the pair as interchangeable in practice. If you draw Sorcerer while hunting Fairy, you have almost the whole build already.
  4. Verify the odds you are planning against. The official template says 1.70%, while a widely mirrored third-party table says 1.2% and labels the race Legendary rather than Epic.

Tips & Notes

  • If you are hunting Fairy and draw Sorcerer, consider stopping. You have four of four stats within two percentage points, for 15 fewer rerolls at the even-odds mark.
  • The odd one star values, 11 and 16 and 21, are a quick way to spot a source that has smoothed the official numbers rather than copied them.

FAQ

How rare is the Fairy race in Iron Soul: Dungeon?

1.70% per reroll on the official race template, seventh of 13. That averages 58.8 rerolls, with even odds at 41 and 90% confidence at 135.

Is Fairy better than Sorcerer?

Marginally. It carries the same four stats one point higher at one star and two points higher at three, but appears 19% less often per roll.

Why do Fairy's numbers end in odd digits?

Because its one star values are 11, 16, 11 and 21 rather than multiples of five. Two stars is one and a half times those, rounded down, giving 16, 24, 16 and 31.
